You know, I haven't blogged on xanga for so many months, but today's incident has really pushed me to scribe this down I guess. Coming home from work today, I was on the bus, nearing the end of my trip home. Three caucasian guys are sitting near me, start saying some very racist comments about Chinese and asians, thinking that I wasn't listening coz I had headphones on. I heard every word. Then they moved onto racist jokes about so many other races including Aboriginals and Jews. It's too sickening to repeat what they said, but really did get my blood boiling. I was going to reply and shock them totally (coz they thought I couldn't speak english well), but it really has taught me a lesson in meekness. So here goes.
Sitting on the back of the bus on this day
Drivin' real slow as I make my way
But man these guys really get on my back
Heard it all before, tellin' me where to go back
But I ain't your statue, somethin' to diss to
Aboriginals here first, you could go back too
So why would you judge and hate on me?
Your just as human as humans can be
It's racial ignorance that really pushes me
Pushes me right beyond my boundaries
I woulda thought my primary days were over
Dissin' me for a foreign lunch that got colder
But the way I see it now, I got a real update
Update, that some still haven't changed to this date
But man, if you could see and you could relate
Knowing it's diversity that makes this place great
But ontop of that, just as hard as it seems
Jesus died for you as well, coz He deemed,
All of us fell so short of the mark
I was just as doomed caught in the dark
So for this I say, harsh words I've forgiven
Even for dissin' God's chosen nation whose livin'
Peace in your heart and I pray that you'll see
Jesus, one day, coz He loves both you and me
So on that note, I put a stamp to this
Stamp of dissapproval - racism exists.
